| dc.description.abstract | A través del perfil de TikTok de Charity Ekezie, este estudio investiga el uso de esta plataforma como medio alternativo para combatir la imagen negativa asociada al África subsahariana. Se ha adoptado un enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, seleccionando de forma no probabilista in- tencional, los cuarenta y cinco vídeos que han tenido más repercusión entre 2022 y 2023 en el perfil de la tiktoker. El objetivo del estudio se ha centrado en analizar los temas tratados en los contenidos generados en el perfil de TikTok de Charity Ekezie, especialmente aquellos temas que, de alguna manera, perpetúan los estereotipos sobre el continente africano. Los resultados del análisis demuestran que la comunicación de Ekezie es eficaz a la hora de presentar historias del continente desde su propia perspectiva, contribuyendo así a la difusión de narrativas po- sitivas y en el cambio de las percepciones estereotipadas que gran parte de sus seguidores no africanos tienen sobre África. | - |

| dc.description.resumo | Through the TikTok profile of Charity Ekezie, this study investigates the use of this platform as an alternative means to combat the negative image associated with Sub-Saharan Africa. The research adopted a quantitative and qualitative approach, intentionally selecting the forty-five videos that have had the most impact between 2022 and 2023 on the tiktoker’s profile. The study’s objective has been to analyze the topics addressed in the videos generated on Charity Ekezie’s TikTok profile, particularly on those topics that, in some way, perpetuate stereotypes about the African continent. The results of the analysis demonstrate that Ekezie’s communication is effective in presenting stories from the continent from her own perspective, thereby contributing to the dissemination of positive narratives and changing the stereotypical perceptions that many of her non-African followers have about Africa. | en_US |
